Losing Life

Two little boys in their undies...

Our long time friend and former babysitter just sent Troy this e-mail:

"I saw that you were looking at college for Jake...wow! I have to tell you, when I saw the pictures of the boys, the first thing I thought about was when I babysat for them, and they were so excited to have a sitter they were having a difficult time going to bed. I remember Mitch jumping all over his bed in his under-roos, and Jake on his bed cracking up at him. They may be in high school, but when I think of Jake and Mitch, I think of two little boys in their undies, enjoying being brothers!"

That is truly all I can think about too.

How to Grow a Small Group

So, today at Staff Meeting, Tommy Bowman says, “Ya, I got another person interested in small groups.” 

Now everyone knows that everything Tommy Bowman touches turns to gold….so I say, “how did THAT happen?”   

"FACEBOOK,”  he says.  Yep, Tommy’s small group has a facebook page that is linked to the Restore main Facebook page.  I know, it’s crazy.

So, here is how I challenged all Restore small group leaders: 

1. Come up with a name for your group
2. Find someone in your small group who will maintain your group’s facebook page
3. Link your facebook page to Restore's page. 
4. Your group can be cool like Tommy’s and have your own facebook page
5. Watch your group grow J

 It’s that simple.  Well, actually there may be a bit more to growing a small group then just a facebook page.  But for today, let's say it's just that simple.

Daily Bible

Just started a daily Bible reading plan with my friend Donna.  I am so excited.  Donna gave me a "Change your Life" Bible that is sectioned out into daily reading from various parts of the Bible.  I am going to use my Restore journal alongside my bible to listen to God each day and write down what he is saying to me.  It is like getting a new pair of running shoes....I am all motivated now.

Today:  "You know the generous grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty he could make you rich."  2 Corinthians 8:9

What If....
