When does your Church start?

As soon as we blow up the inflatable church building...which takes just about 2 hours.

When I meet people and they ask why we moved to KC, I tell them about the church.  They usually ask where does the church meet and when do you start.  My standard answers are, we are hoping to meet in a local theater or school and we begin on March 2, 2008.

However, it has become clear to me this week that the church has already started:

• We are serving the community - Replenish, October 18th
• We are building relationships that are intentional
• We are asking God daily to help us love people like He loves people.
• We are beginning small groups in October.

Weekly large group gatherings are only one egg in the church basket.  I can't wait to add that egg, and that egg is quite colorful and exciting...but it is only one egg.

Ladies and gentlemen....the church has already begun.

The Bowmans are finally here!

Yep, it's true.  Kansas City is now even cooler (if that is at all possible) because the Bowmans are officially KC residents.  Look out KC...you will never be the same again.

ReachoutKC information meeting In KC

September 23rd at 7:00pm.  Our first local information meeting.  There are 41 people saying "YES" I will be there. 

God is so amazing and so good.  My heart is pounding.  I keep getting this sense that God has been working upstream on this thing for a very long time.  My prayers...

• please don't let us mess it up
• please help us to have the courage to follow your promptings
• soften our hearts towards you and the Jesus Mission of helping people find their way back to God

I can't wait to look collectively in the faces of the people whom God may be asking to be a part of a new church that helps many people find Him.

Replenish

What is the first thing you would do if you came to a community to plant a church? 

Here's one idea...Replenish the local food bank. 

One of our interns, Luke Kendall, will be organizing a serving event called REPLENISH.  We will enroll our neighbors to fill a grocery bag with food for our local food bank.
