Proud to be a Missourian
Okay, here's the deal. In Missouri it is important that the name on your Social Security card match that of your current driver's license. Cause if they don't, people get nervous. My SS card has had my maiden name on it for the last 21 years of my married life.
- I have gotten driver's licenses in 3 different states with my married name.
- I have gotten a passport with my married name, but when it came to getting a Missouri driver's license, apparently I am not "socially secure."
So, I had to take a trip to the SS office with:
- my marriage license.
- my birth certificate (both of which I located in a matter of minutes, which is nothing short of a miracle)
- my IL Driver's license
...and apply for a new SS card with my married name on it.
I felt like a newlywed.
Oh here is the really GOOD news. Everyone in every office I went to was helpful, sympathetic and friendly....it made me proud to be a Missourian.
